ALABAMA CHAPTER NAPNAP ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Alabama Chapter of NAPNAP is committed to excellence in care provided to children as well as excellence in education. The Alabama Chapter will be awarding a scholarship to a licensed nursing student pursuing a Master’s of Science in Nursing, Post-Master’s Certificate or Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner with plans to focus on pediatric practice. Applicants must be a member of both the NAPNAP and the Alabama Chapter of NAPNAP.

Qualifications
Annual Scholarship

Current NAPNAP AND Alabama NAPNAP member, residing in Alabama
-
Enrolled in an accredited program located in Alabama leading to eligibility to sit for certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner with plans to focus on pediatric care

Good academic standing
-
Formal acceptance into and/or enrolled in an Advanced Practice Nursing Program
-
At least two semesters remaining in the program (can include current semester)

Transcript(s) (unofficial accepted) from all colleges and universities attended

An essay that adheres to the Essay Guidelines (see criteria forms below)

Discussion of how you will use your degree to improve the health status and/or social conditions of children and their families

A statement summarizing your career goals

Description of your involvement in extracurricular and community activities

Typed, 12 point font, Times New Roman
-
Double spaced with standard 1-inch margins
-
Length: 2-page minimum, 3-page maximum

Correct grammatical construction and spelling

At least two letters of recommendation:

At least one from current nursing faculty on official letterhead

A member of any nursing professional organization may complete the remaining letter

The letter should speak to the applicant's potential for impact, influence, or advancement of the profession

A current curriculum vitae or resume

The online application AND all supporting documentation must be received by April 30th, 2022

The Board will not review late or incomplete packets.
